Locate Tweets with Power Automate & Demystifying a Twitter Connector "Gotcha"
Previously explorations covered social monitoring for tweets in Dynamics Marketing which was superbly fun. Recently with the use of some PCF & Bing power, things just got a little bit cooler in the Tweet world of Dynamics Marketing. A slight tweak to the flow has been made - take the tweeters profile location and trim any text after the first comma for example 'Sydney, Australia' becomes 'Sydney'. Then we leverage the wonderful Bing connector to calculate the longitude and latitude of the Tweeter.
VIDEO: Power Up Dynamics Marketing
Explore some cool ways to enhance, extend and improve Dynamics Marketing by leveraging power platform tools in a way which is real world and practical. We will focus on improving both user and customer experience to help attain maximum ROI on Dynamics Marketing implementations by doing some cool and exciting magic with AI, Power Automate, Power Apps & Custom Controls.
Trend Monitoring and Tweeting with Dynamics Marketing
A crucial part of a marketers job is brand management. Keeping in tune with the the news and trends that impact their products and/or services ensures they can act in a timely and appropriate manner to their market. With the help of our good friend Power Automate (PowerMate) my users can now peruse relevant, topical news to their brand(s) and tweet about articles of interest without ever leaving Dynamics Marketing. I also threw in a little PCF delight for that extra visual appeal.
Form Processing + Power Automate: Lessons Learned from AImee in Action
I put AImee with Power Automate to the test in a live demo recently at Global AI Bootcamp, it was super simple form which asked people to write their name, email, favorite colour and their guess of how many cookies were in the jar - what could possibly go wrong!?
I will share some lessons learned which led to a much improved and more robust flow for fail proof Form Processing which significantly reduces ways for 'bad' data to get into Dynamics and provides a user friendly log report for any issues along the way.
Those emergency Flows you hope you never need - Pending Send Emails
A delightful and simple flow to automate sending emails sat in 'Pending Send' in Dynamics, via outlook instead. Then very importantly marking the email as 'Sent' so it doesn't get sent again once the email router is up and running, plus providing reassurance to users that their mail is being sent. This impressed my colleagues no end that a no code rookie like me could build, test and provide a plan B in under 30 minutes.
Sending Birthday Special Offers with Dynamics Marketing and Power Automate
Automating some birthday love via Dynamics Marketing (with a little help from PowerMate).
Bringing Instagram into Dynamics Marketing: Powered by Flow and PowerApps Component Framework Controls
Dynamics (for) Marketing has functionality for scheduled and instant social posting to Twitter, Facebook & LinkedIn but nothing for Instagram. Fortunately Microsoft Flow already has an Instagram connector. So lets get our Instagram monitoring into Dynamics Marketing and leverage some PowerApps Component Framework Controls for extra sexiness.
Social Media Monitoring & Analysis in Dynamics 365: Powered by Flow
Dynamics (for) Marketing has functionality for scheduled and instant social posting to Twitter, Facebook & LinkedIn among a few other social media related goodness. It also used to have some really cool social listening functionality too but with the death of 'Social Engagement' the amount of insight of social media power is pretty disappointing! So i decided to start having a play with our good friends Microsoft Flow and Azure Cognitive Services Text Analytics API, to see how we could power up the social side of Dynamics Marketing, starting with Twitter.
Suppression segments for responsive Customer Journeys in D365 Marketing
Customer journeys - if used with a simple segment trigger - will not respect updated information about a contact. My worst fears came true, in this article I explain how to get the customer journey to 're-check' segment membership during a live journey
Enjoyable Data Entry with AImee: Powered by Microsoft Form Processing
Meet AImee your data entry assistant. She works for free and never even takes a toilet break. She is available to work any time and all the time. She is the brainchild of Microsoft AI Builder. She will turn paper entries into Dynamics 365 Marketing contacts so we can leverage D365 marketing automation to thank the competition entrants and identify the winner to claim their prize!

Part One - The Market of Marketing with Dynamics 365
In this series of articles, I will share with you my analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of marketing automation with Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, so you can better advise your customers on what the best marketing solutions for them.
Due to the abundance of marketing automation software available, for the purpose of this series we will be assuming that the customer already has or will have D365 CE for their CRM functions. I will be focusing on D365 for Marketing, ClickDimensions, Adobe Campaign & Marketo for my recommendation.
Portal issues? Just turn it off and back on again
We might be in the cloud, but Dynamics Portals still sometimes require a good old traditional 'turn it off and back on again' approach. There are three ways this can be done but choose your approach wisely!
Delivering Redundancy – how to design yourself out of a job
In this article we explore how to nurture empowered users through each stage of the project engagement, learnt from my experiences, successes and failures in reaching redundancy.
Relevance Search in D365 - the good, the not so good and the things to consider
I stumbled upon relevance search while revising for the exam MB-200: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Core. After reading a brief overview my curiosity was peaked as to how it all works and just how 'relevant' the searching might or could possibly be. It turns out that it's pretty impressive at both a user experience and technical level, but only your system configurations are made knowledgeably.
The Power of Dynamics – Proving it’s not “Just a CRM”
As a Dynamics Consultant specialising in Customer Engagement (i.e. CRM), I regularly come up against user misconceptions and presumptions of what D365 is or what it does. I often want to lie on the floor and commence a kicking and screaming tantrum along the line of “it’s not just a CRM!”.
